Hope Givers

Hope Givers aims to equip a young, female social entrepreneur and her team of women with the skills needed to enable them to create the Shea Butter Social Enterprise. By doing this they can provide stable employment opportunities as well as improve the quality of life and standard of living for the women in their local community. You will have an active role in creating the content of workshops and delivering them over Skype and telephone to the team in Ghana.

Boost! Consultancy

Boost! is a student led consultancy project which offers services to charities and social enterprises. Working with a range of clients you will have the opportunity to work on a real consultancy project in a team of 4 guided by a UoM Alumni. Your role will be to support an organisation for example by helping them to write business plans, create marketing strategies, improve IT systems or generate income, and you will contribute new ideas to organizations, always with their goals in mind.

Speak up

Speak Up is a project based at Gorton Mount Primary Academy, a school where English is a second language for 70% of the pupils. You will have an active role in teaching basic English once a week to parents and adults associated with the school whose English is often weak or even non-existent. The aims of the classes are to aid social integration, provide the basic skills needed to gain employment and serve as evidence of English language ability for those seeking the right to remain in the UK.

SPOT Finance

SPOT Finance run workshops on a variety of financial aspects for students in colleges around Manchester. You will have an active role in creating the content of lessons as well as delivering the workshops on a weekly basis. Topics covered are budgeting, saving and interest, and management of accounts, debit and credit cards. The project will also work to improve participants transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving.

There are many ways to join Enactus Manchester, either by being a part of one of our Volunteering Projects or joining the Events or Marketing teams. As a registered Society at the University of Manchester we benefit from a lot of support from the University as a whole and also more specifically from the Volunteering Team, the Careers Service, the Enterprise Centre and Manchester Business School. The University are very supportive of Enactus Manchester's work and encourage students to join to develop skills which can't necessarily be taught through academic modules.
